techy gadgets + gizmos: a 2024 holiday gift guide.
Everyone knows someone who always has the latest iPhone or the newest gadget. Or there might be aspiring “techies” who think various gadgets or gizmos are cool but they would never buy them for themselves, which makes the holiday a cool opportunity to gift them! At various price points, here are 9 gadgets and gizmos I think top the list!
one: First up is the Fujifilm Instax Mini iPhone Photo Printer - this is a small bluetooth printer you can bring with you anywhere to print iPhone photos in real time. I think this would be super cool to bring around if you have kids, go on vacation or just delight in taking photos and documenting mems.
two: Next up is the Oura Ring which is definitely having its ✨moment✨ right now. I have personally owned an Oura ring for the last 3 years, and the metrics it tracks are really insightful. From body temp and Heart Rate Variability (HRV), to stress, sleeps and steps, this is a great tool to measure your ongoing health. My Oura Ring has predicted my getting sick each time in the last 3 years with early accuracy. One thing about gifting this for anyone other than yourself — ring sizes are NOT standard, so the sizing kit is important and has to be ordered first. Best Buy has them in person, or if you’re not “surprising” someone with this gift, popping in to get the right size might be a good thing!
three: This is kind of random, but we use this rechargeable Moon Light as a nightlight in our bathroom — there’s a bunch of colors to choose from and it is just a cool, cute light to look at, with an accompanying stand.
four: When I got married, Taylor already had this Nespresso Vertuo Machine with accompanying frother, and honestly, I use it weekly (if not daily, depending). It makes a quality pulls of coffee (even with the crema on top!) and the milk frother truly allows you to make latte grade coffee at home. I have always wanted to get a Breville coffee machine, but I love this one too. I buy the Nespresso Vertuo Double Espresso Pods and they have YET to disappoint for my home lattes.
five: This Hatch Smart Alarm clock has been on my list for awhile. I like the idea of NOT sleeping with my phone next to my bed but I use it as my alarm clock. The Hatch alarm clock wakes you up gently by mimicking the natural light of a sunrise, and it also has a dim light for winding down before bed. It also comes with some soothing soundscapes to help you fall and stay asleep, and it just seems like a very cool product.
six: This electric BUG SWATTER is a game changer and is among some of the top items I inherited when getting married to Taylor. It has paid for itself again and again for gnats, flies, mosquitos, moths, spiders and the rogue wasp who flies into our house when the door was opened for the dogs. It’s rechargeable, hold its charge for a long time, and it kills bugs fast. I will warn you that it does make quite a loud zapping noise, but I think it’s an underrated, new and better fly swatter that never misses. LOL.
seven: Okay, my boss got this Bird Buddy Bird Feeder a few years ago and it is SO COOL. It’s got a small motion activated camera attached to a bird house, and it records birds (and sometimes squirrels) eating the bird food. The app ID’s the bird for you, so you know what kind of birds are around you. And honestly, some of the bird selfies it takes are sooo cute and so iconic. My favorite bird is the tufted titmouse and I only confirmed because of this Bird Buddy capturing one in the wild.
eight: This might seem like a weird thing, but the Mira Fertility Tracker is more than just for fertility — it’s really like the Oura ring of the female hormones. The test strips can measure estrogen, progesterone, LH, and FSH in real-time telling you with precise accuracy where you are in your cycle. This does help for those who are trying to conceive, but it’s also a great helper for those coming off of birth control, those who are post-partum, and those who have irregular cycles or are trying to regulate their hormones.
nine: I love a good air purifier and I historically use AirDoctors for my main floor living. However, for our bedroom, we use the Molekule Air Mini+ which is sleek, quiet and sits on top of our chest of drawers. The filter life is good and it comes with an accompanying app for control.
Do you have any of these? What gadget or gizmo would you add to this list?
