for the friend who loves the yarn aisle: a 2025 gift guide
This is the year that I fell back in love with YARN (via knitting and crochet), so naturally I had to do a yarn lovers gift guide!
one: first up, this Yarn Backpack which is great for travel. We got this for a trip to DC this summer, and it holds lots of yarn, knitting needles/crochet hooks, plus other items like your laptop and water bottle.
two: these Mini Scissors are cute and also so useful to keep in your kit and by your side.
three: This Pendulum Wooden Yarn Holder is perfect for knitting or crocheting because you don’t have to unwind your skein by hand and it just gracefully and continuously unwinds as you go. In my opinion, this is a great alternative to a yarn bowl and is perfect if you wind your own hanks.
four: I just began dabbling into yarn knitting, and I’m using a Summer Lee pattern, so this book, The Sock Project by Summer Lee would be a great edition for the sock knitter!
five: one of the yarn gals I follow on instagram posted this Sweater Weather Owala Water Bottle which is a great addition to the yarn lover who also cares about hydration LOL
six: if you or someone you know wants to DABBLE into yarn work, this Cardigang Beginner Beanie Kit is a great gateway option.
seven: I see these when I got to local yarn shops — this Wrist Yarn Holder is perfect for knitting or crocheting on the go (because the skein unwinds easily as you’re on-the-move
eight: well, i mean, obviously a Yarn Skein Glass Ornament is perfect for the yarn obsessed girlie (or guy, of c).
nine: Counting rows is a vital part of larger projects in yarn and this Row Counter Enamel Pin is a CUTE way to keep track.
ten: back to sock knitting, this Cuff Down Hat might be controversial if you’re a Toe Up sock knitter (they also have Toe Up hats) but HOW CUTE RIGHT? also would be a good conversation starter if people don’t know what the heck that means.
eleven: okay, if you’re looking for a more classic and easy to use row counter, this Clover Row Counter is the classic, tried and true!
twelve: i would be remiss if I didn’t mention getting a Gift Card to your local yarn shop. If you’re in Colorado, the Loopy Ewe (Loveland), My Sister Knits (Fort Collins) and Lamb Shoppe (Denver) are some of our favs.
thirteen: Stitch Markers seem to be more vital in knit than crochet (but don’t quote me on that), HOWEVER, these cutie Mini Yarn Skein Stitch Markers are too cute to resist, no matter what project you’re working on.
fourteen: this Slap Bracelet Sock Ruler is a VERY convenient and helpful tool for those who knit socks. HIGHLY recommend.
That’s all for this one! Any items you’d add?
