for the plant lover: a 2024 holiday gift guide.

Welcome to Day 3 of my 2024 holiday gift guides! This one is for the 🌿 plant lovers. 🌿 My husband has recently taken a hugeeee liking to houseplants, and this has also renewed my adoration for them. I feel like most people have a ‘plant era’ at some point in their life and if anyone on your Christmas list dabbles in house plant love, here are some gifts to support their adoration! 🪴

one: First up, these propagation jars that can hang on the wall. We went to a home recently that had these glass propogation jars with pothos overflowing out of them, and it was such a unique way to display houseplants. They’re affordable and would make a great propagation station.

two: A moisture meter might be a gift that new plant lover might be like “huh?” about, but it’s actually sooo beneficial for any plant owner. This one measures moisture, pH AND light levels, but its main benefit is that you can stick it in any of your plants to see if it’s ready for a drink of water or not. This helps prevent overwatering and keeps you and your plants happy without the guesswork.

three: Any plant lover will love receiving new houseplants to add to their chlorophyll collection! This company, Rooted, has plant mystery boxes, where they send a trio of new houseplants to anyone on your christmas list. I’d opt for the pet-friendly version, but take a look at any of their options!

four: Did you know that houseplants absorb light via their leaves? This means keeping them shiny and dust-free is a great way to help them thrive. These microfiber dusting gloves make it easy to gently dust your plant leaves to keep them looking real good!

five: I won a couple of these plant flags at a bunco party a few years ago, and mine says “Please Don’t Die” which is always a cute conversation starter but also really, please never die, plants! This is a cute stocking stuffer, or would be a cute addition to a houseplant if you pick one up for a pal.

six: My husband recently scored a deal on a smart plant humidifier for our bedroom, keeping some of our more prized plants (looking at you, monstera and fiddle leaf fig!) moist and feeling fresh. These humidifiers can do both a cool or warm mist, depending, and their “smart” feature means they survey the humidity in the air and won’t run if its already optimal for the plants its near. this is a very cool, very niche plant lover gift.

seven: This one is a given for the houseplant owners — a good plant mister to give your plants or moss poles a nice little spritz when you pass by is always a good idea, plus it looks great on a shelf next to your plants and things.

eight: This is one of my favorites because it shows people on the street you love plants. I have one of these macrame mini plant hangers (in a mini terracotta pot!) and not only have I gotten a lot of comments on it, it just gives your car a cute little touch and lets the people know their around a plant lover.

nine: If nothing else strikes your fancy for the plant lover in your life, you can never go wrong with a giftcard to your local plant nursery or shop. Not only does this support small businesses and support local, but it gives them the chance to buy whatever they fancy!

Thanks for checking out my plant lovers gift guide - stay tuned for the next one!
