Hello and welcome to day 6 of my 2026 gift guides! I don’t know about you, but I feel like a lot of my friends (also also myself) are in our ‘bird era’. Last year, I received a Bird Buddy (bird feeder with a camera) as a gift, and instantly i wanted to be BFF’s with all birds in our neighborhood. This gift guide is an ode to this phenomenon — for anyone (even yourself!) who might be a budding birdwatcher or a seasoned bird aficionado. Enjoy!
one: first up, this Backyard Birding Bingo, which is equal parts fun for the whole family and informative about birds!
two: i think this bird watercolor book is so cute — what’s better to get familiar with your fav birds than to paint them?
three: this felt Robin ornament (holding a bauble!!!) is so cutie to me and perfect for any bird-loving pal.
four: like I mentioned earlier, I was gifted a Bird Buddy last year and it’s been such a joy to capture the birds visiting in our neighborhood! Bird Buddy just came out with this Bird Buddy Nook (smaller and more cost-effective version of their OG) and I am thinking about getting htis so I have one in our backyard also! (p.s. I highly recommend getting the solar version of ANY bird buddy because it charges itself).
five: chances are you’ve heard of the board game Wingspan by now, but this is how I discovered my favorite bird is the tufted titmouse (and also, if you already have this game or know someone who does, there’s lots of expansion packs and add-ons you can get).
six: i feel like a Cuckoo Clock is bird-loving adjacent and this DIY version is so cute! I want.
seven: This Backyard Bird Collection Set (Book + Journal) is a great gift for the bird lover in your life. The description says it best: “An ideal gift for bird lovers and nature enthusiasts, this set is the perfect way to incorporate the wonders of the natural world into your everyday life.”
eight: we have a similar Black-capped Chickadee clip we put on our tree every year, and it’s just so cute.
nine: if you’re more of an analog bird observer, instead of a bird buddy, may i interest you in a BIRD BATH?! my grandparents had one growing up and i lovedddd seeing the little birds visit. *adds to cart*
ten: who doesn’t love a dad hat exclaiming a new favorite hobby?!
eleven: Mark Ludy is a local (to me) artist/illustrator and i was gifted this 1,000 piece bird field guide puzzle by one of my best friends (who knew I was in my bird era! LOL). It is a difficult puzzle but I saw so many birds I’d never heard of. So fun!
twelve: last, but not least, this ‘Support Your Local Birds’ mug is perfect to add to your ever-growing mug collection.
Anything else you’d add to this birding guide?!
See you tomorrow!
