35 books on my 2021 reading list.

You know that saying “my eyes were bigger than my stomach”?! Well. That is me with books. I cannot leave a library without 12+ books in hand. My to-be-read (TBR) library queue is off the charts right now. And then, somehow they all come in at once and then I’m juggling books like The Bachelor is juggling girls on a Week 1 group date trying to read them all before they’re due. LOL.

Anyway. I thought it’d be fun to share what’s in queue on my 2021 virtual bookshelf. My goal for this year is to read 75 books (up from my goal of 52 for 2020) and while I don’t have all my books planned out, here are some I’ve got lined up.

For me, reading is broken down into two categories — growth and leisure. I typically am always reading one from each category at any given time, and I try not to read two of the same category in a row. Some to learn, some to relax.

Here’s 35 of the books I’ve got on my TBR shelf for 2021:

For GROWTH:

Preach to Yourself
- Hayley Morgan
The Making of a Manager - Julie Zhuo
Rhythms of Renewal - Rebekah Lyons
You’re Not Enough (and that’s okay) - Allie Beth Stuckey
Wild and Free - Hayley Morgan / Jess Connolly
Don’t Overthink It - Anne Bogel
The Next Right Thing - Emily P. Freeman
Atomic Habits - James Clear
Project 333 - Courtney Carver
Made For These Times - Justin Zoradi
Love Thy Body - Nancy R. Pearcey
Love Does - Bob Goff
The Joy of Missing Out - Tonya Dalton
The Best of Me - David Sedaris
This Too Shall Last - K.J Ramsey

For LEISURE: (fiction, autobiographies, novels, romance, mysteries, thrillers, etc)

The Inheritance Games - Jennifer Lynn Barnes
How To Find Love in A Bookshop - Veronica Henry
A Court of Wings & Ruin - Sarah J. Maas
The Answer Is... Reflections on My Life - Alex Trebek (brb, crying.)
The Other Mrs. - Mary Kubica
Ordinary Grace - William Kent Krueger
Anxious People - Fredrik Backman
Attachments - Rainbow Rowell
How to Stop Time - Matt Haig
Upstairs at the White House: My Life with the First Ladies - J.R. West
Still Life - Louise Penny
All Your Perfects - Colleen Hoover
The Hunting Party - Lucy Foley
A Lady’s Guide to Mischief and Murder - Dianne Freeman
The Language of Flowers - Odessa Begay
This Time Next Year - Sophie Cousens
Modern Love - Daniel Jones
What You Wish For - Katherine Center
When She Was Good - Michael Robotham
The Heart Principle - Helen Hoang

That’s about half of the books I plan to read this year. The others will likely be ones I hear about from friends, ones I am gifted, or ones I stumble across as I peruse the library or want to dive into a particular topic. Some of these may make it into my Top 10, some I may love so much I blog about them, and others may be massive flops that I stop reading because we #dontsettleforbadbooks, right?!! As always, I post book reviews in real-time on my bookstagram which you can follow by clicking HERE.

What books are you planning to read this year? Any recommendations or overlap? Sound off below!

Happy reading!
